Atalanta Avventura: Part 19 – Meet the Famous Sextuplets

Having just wrapped up a famous, and very likely unprecedented sextuple of the European Super Cup, Italian Super Cup, World Club Cup, Serie A, Italian Cup and Champions Cup in 2025/26, I thought it would be interesting to introduce the main stars of this fantastic squad.

Goalkeeper

Dutch international Sem Mijnheer joined us from Utrecht in 2020 for just £4.5 million. He’s since played 174 games for the club, only conceding 113 goals. His star rating is low compared to some of the other stars, but there’s no doubting he’s a superb goalkeeper.

Full-Backs

We have some of the world’s best defending the flanks, but the main two are Josha Vagnoman, who remains our club record signing since signing for £24.5 million in 2019, and the brilliant Antonio Carlos on the right. Vagnoman has racked 208 league appearances for the club, only scoring 4 times in those matches. Carlos, on the other hand, has become our highest rated player, is worth £60 million and has made 92 appearances in his three seasons at Atalanta.

Centre-backs

We have two genuinely world-class centre-backs to ensure we stay solid in defence. Jakub Maruszewksi joined for £6.75 million in 2022 and is now worth £65 million and his partner Tiago Frasco arrived from Braga for £3.6 million in 2022 and is now worth £60 million.

Centre-midfielders

The anchor of the team is academy product Filippo Melegoni, who stepped up to the first team in the second season, established himself as first choice defensive midfielder in the third, and racked up 200 league appearances since. Now the club captain and our oldest player at 27 years old, he’s dropped to 2.5-stars ability but still performs superbly – racking up 10 assists and 2 goals in both 2024/25 and 2025/26.

Challenging the captain for 2026/27 could be exciting Brazilian Adelton Tres, who arrived for £1.4 million for Gremio in 2023 then went on loan to Chievo for a season. He’s yet to make many appearances beyond substitute cameos, but has really come on in the last few months of the most recent season.

In front of these players, our strongest option is the outrageously talented advanced playmaker Timmi Uldbjerg. The 20-year-old Dane arrived from FC Kobenhavn for just £2.5 million in 2021 and has quickly risen to a 4.5-star midfielder worth £60 million.

His replacement is another academy product in Alessandro Cortinovis, who can play in either of the central midfield roles and fill in on the right wing. He’s racked up 188 games for the club and is a solid rotation player.

Alongside those two we play a box-to-box midfielder, of which the strongest option is 23-year-old Brazilian Denis Roncaglio. He signed from Flamengo for £2 million in 2021, had a loan back to Brazil then Frosinone, before establishing himself in Bergamo. He’s got a great eye for goal, scoring 30 goals in his three seasons as a first-choice player.

Another strong option is another academy product Matteo Giacalone. Now 21, Giacalone came through our academy in 2020, enjoyed loans at Ternana and Bologna, and is now challenging Roncaglio’s place in the side. He’s scored 10 goals in the last two campaigns.

Wingers

Our strongest left-sided attacker and undoubtedly the best player at the club is Croatian winger Antonio Marin. Now 25, Marin was signed in the very first summer and has racked up 111 goals and 71 assists in 256 league games in his eight seasons at the club.

On the right, we have a couple of players of similar ability. The first is academy product Amad Diallo Traore, who began the game in our Under 18s squad, stepped up to the first team as backup in 2020 and only began to establish himself as first choice in the 2025/26 campaign. However, a broken leg in December ruled him out for four months.

In that time, Colombian winger Luis Collazos, who’d been signed the previous summer, stepped up to fill the berth superbly. The 19-year-old, signed for just £600k from Millionairos, scored 7 goals in 26 league games as well as 10 in 19 for our Under 20s.

There’s a couple more exciting young options who should be more ready for first team action next season, in left-sided academy product Massimo D’Elia and right winger Alex Dongmo, who signed for £10 million in January 2026.

Strikers

The main main up top is Juventus academy product Cosimo Marco Da Graca. Still only 24, Da Graca is already the club’s all-time record league goalscorer – racking up 126 goals in 184 appearances. He’s won Serie A Top Goalscorer three times and top scored in the Champions Cup in 2026, yet still hasn’t been picked for the Italian national side. My coaches only rate him as a 3-star player, but I love him and he’s very much my first choice forward.

CMDG 2026

His backup is 21-year-old Serbian Milovan Timitojevic. He’s rated higher than Da Graca by my coaches but injuries have held him back, including a 6-month layoff with damaged cruciate ligaments suffered in December 2025. He’s yet to fulfil his potential but is already worth £68 million, suggesting very exciting things are to come.

Another exciting striker is 19-year-old Brazilian Dimba, whose yet to score for the club in 13 appearances but has plenty of potential talent.

Potential talents

There’s plenty more talent to come through the ranks and challenge these players. Our Under 20s squad has won three Champions Cups as well as three Under 20s titles and Super Cups, while the Under 18s have also won three titles and three Super Cups.

The current crop count 11 5-star potential players, four 4.5 star players and nine 4 star players among their ranks.

Under 20s & 18s 2026

Potentially the best is 17-year-old Spanish striker Ezequiel Sanchez, who we signed for £1.2 million in 2025. While the second best is another academy product Paulo Vincenzi, who came through our system in the summer of 2025.

The future is very bright at Atalanta, with a new ground set to open in the summer of 2026 and a host of exciting wonderkids ready to fill the boots of players who’ve already achieved unimaginable success in eight campaigns.
